        Ariel Atom History

        The Ariel Atom is manufactured by the Ariel Motor Company, based in Somerset, England. The first model of the car was introduced in 1999 and they have been produced ever since. The Ariel Atom is one of the lightest cars in the world. It weighs less than 500 kilograms and it’s made from a combination of tubular steel space frame chassis and fibreglass body panels. The car has no doors so you can easily climb in, but be careful when getting out because you have to throw yourself out rather than open the door.

        Ariel Atom Performance

        The Ariel Atom features a lightweight chassis that holds many components of the car, but leaves out the non-essential parts for example ABS brakes, traction control and even a stereo! To add to its performance, the car is powered by a 2.0 litre Honda engine which produces 235 bhp (175 kW) giving an acceleration of 0-60mph in approximately 2.3 seconds!

        When you drive the Ariel Atom you get a feel for what it’s like to drive a Formula 1 car, with similar levels of acceleration. You can even go up to speeds in excess of 150 mph (241 km/h) with the wind rushing past you at unbelievable speeds.
